Trading in our Weakness
All of us are weak because we're human beings. But that's what the Gospel of Christ is all about: God loves us, forgives and, despite our error, He even sent His Son - without sin - to fill in the gap for us. And, He makes us worthy enough to be His representatives. With all our faults, He still uses us for sharing His gospel with the world. Unfortunately, we should be prepared to experience opposition when we share this Gospel with the world.
Regardless of our specific circumstances, there will most often be persecution when we act as an ambassador for God. What we can do is rely on Him, because we are weak and we are dependant on His grace and mercy to see us through. He is strong. And, He does see us through. If we focus on Him, by His strength we are equipped to share. Keep these Biblical passages in mind…
"If you are insulted because of the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you." 1 Peter 4:14
"Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." Matthew 5:9-12
"Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened. But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. It is better, if it is God's will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil." 1 Peter 3:13-17
"Do not be surprised, my brothers, if the world hates you. We know that we have passed from death to life, because we love our brothers. Anyone who does not love remains in death." 1 John 3:13-14
